Many years ago Kaylene Tan made a lovely short film about the gewutuan performers Bai Yan and Ye Qing for the 2006 relaunch of the National Museum of Singapore. Now the great interview she did (only a portion of which we used back then) has been reborn as ep 2 of Love in a Time of Change, directed by Michel Cayla, produced by Panuksmi Hardjowirogo and co-written by Leow Puay Tin.

I had a ball working on this, especially researching the music and (hopefully) writing in my first ever (pending final client approval) HK movie-style closing montage, over the song Jin Xiao Duo Zhen Zhong. (This involved a massive hunt to find a Mandopop version of Danny Chan's 80s canto version). Many thanks to Tim Barnard, short wedding of the wedding Ct Lim and Liew Kai Khiun for fleshing out the context and to all the actors and production crew.
